Mary
Mary was a stray who wandered into the back yard of a Whiskers volunteer in 2019. Smart girl! She's lovely with one blue eye one green eye and an all-white coat. She has adapted well at the shelter and enjoys watching all that goes on, but she's still not sure she can trust people. She will come up and sniff your hand, but then moves just out of reach so you can't pet her. She spends her days lounging with the other cats and observing the volunteers. While she won't let us touch her (yet), she's enjoying her life at Whiskers with all of her kitty friends and the volunteers who take care of her every need. We hope she will continue to learn to trust people and may someday be adopted into her very own home, but at Whiskers she will be allowed to adjust at her own pace and will have a safe place to live for as long as she needs. Sponsoring Mary allows Whiskers to take care of Mary, but also to take in others like her who would not be taken into other shelters.
UPDATE 2022 - Mary was adopted by a long-time volunteer and is thriving in her home.
